Ilex Perado

Tree with evergreen small leaves , green to dark green, shiny, elliptic-oblong with full margin or with only a few teeth. It prefers to grow above 500m, rarely present below 300m. It appears in very protected or very exposed habitats, such as: streams, craters, lava flows or with individuals isolated in semi-natural pastures. Usually they appear dispersed in the typical forests of laurissilva, along with other arboreal species. The trunks are often covered with mosses and other species and the old leaves of hepatic epiphytes.
